ÉXODO Tour in San Antonio: Peso Pluma Masterfully Mixes Corridos Tumbados with Urban Rhythms

On July 27th, 2024, at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas, Peso Pluma delivered a captivating performance on an almost "key"-shaped stage. He made a dramatic entrance seated on a throne, accompanied by dancers, and opened with "LA PATRULLA." Dressed in black pants, a striped long-sleeve button-up shirt, and a short black veil covering his face, he defied a foot injury by energetically dancing and jumping on one foot. After the first song, he removed the veil and replaced it with a black baseball cap. At the end of the first song, he made his way down the stage’s catwalk, slowly walking but also excitedly jumping and balancing on one foot, waving his hands in the air to encourage the fans to get louder. He reached the end of the stage to perform the second and third songs of the show.

During "Reloj," he surprised the audience by inviting 20-year-old Ivan Cornejo, known for his emotionally resonant corridos blending traditional Mexican sounds with modern elements, to join him. The crowd's deafening screams almost drowned out their performance. Peso Pluma later expressed his admiration for Ivan, whom he's been listening to for two years, and was thrilled to share the stage with him in front of thousands.

After performing "Plebada," Peso Pluma grabbed his crutches and moved to the front of the stage, where he sat down for an acoustic rendition of "Nueva Vida." The song picked up pace as he played guitar alongside his band, which included instruments like the cello and trombone. He also draped a Mexican flag, handed to him by a fan, around himself for the remainder of the song.

The audience's chants of "Peso Pluma" were met with his enthusiastic response, "VIVA LA PUTA DOBLE P." The stage visuals, filled with purple and blue lasers, fireworks, and fire, electrified the atmosphere, while massive screens captured his every move. Peso Pluma interacted playfully with the cameras, forming hearts with his hands, kissing the lens, and engaging with fans. In a lighthearted moment, he caught a bra thrown on stage and humorously placed it on the mic stand.

The energy didn't stop there. While singing “PRC,” he made his way down to the barricade, greeting fans in the front row, who were eager to say hello and take photos with him as he walked by. During “LA PEOPLE,” he moved to the back of the stage to greet the audience behind him, ensuring they weren’t forgotten. His dancers stayed in the circular area of the stage, with his band right beside him. Whether you've heard just a few of his songs or have been a longtime fan, the energy at his shows is undeniable, and you're bound to dance.
